Marie Muhammad is one of the great granddaughter’s of the most revered leaders in the Black Muslim, movement--the late Elijah Muhammad, founder of the modern-day Nation of Islam. Although, Marie was surrounded by the influence of her Muslim relatives, she refused to be trained in the teachings of Islam. A whole black nation of families were impacted both positively and negatively. God has called me to help build the old waste places; to raise up the foundations of many generations; and to be a repairer of the breach for marriage and the family.

The youngest of four children, she rejected Allah and suffered the pain of being estranged from her family as a result of her decision for a season. Even though Marie was not raised in a Christian church, her mother taught her that Jesus Christ was Lord. It was through this revelation that God began to draw her by his love and at 17, she accepted Christ into her life and received the baptism in the Holy Spirit.

Everyone wants a happily ever after, and Marie was no different. Only God, the author and finisher of our faith, can finish our stories. It has taken great faith for Marie to receive her generational promises. At times, in the midst of storms, shipwrecks, and broken pieces of her life, it seemed like she would never arrive at her destination. God did a great work in her previous marriage that ended in divorce. Through her own brokenness God has given her a burden to see others restored as God has restored her hope in love and marriage. Marie believed that her previous marriage would be an example of Gods love and forgiveness and it is but it didn’t end as she dreamed it. But God wants us to Dream again! She shares in her memoir, Overcoming the Shipwrecks of Life on broken pieces her journey to love and extend forgiveness with many twist, turns and plots. After overcoming many generational strongholds, she has accepted the call to spread his word. One of her greatest passions is to see the broken made whole, marriages restored and singles and divorcees to know their is hope if we bring God the ashes. He promised to exchange them for his beauty. She wants others to know that God is no respecter of persons and what he has done for her; he will do for them.

Marie received her biblical, deliverance, spiritual warfare and prophetic training foundation from Crusaders Ministries in Chicago, where the overseers are Apostle John and Wanda Eckhart. She attended All Nations Worship Assembly for years, where Apostle Dr. Matthew and Kamilah Stevenson are the overseers. Now she resides under the leadership of Dr. Irishea Hillard of New Light Church in Houston, Texas. Marie knows first-hand there is only one true God. Her testimony of struggle and victory landed her as the featured story of Charisma magazine in March 2021. Marie has recently been interviewed on the Christian Television Network in January 2022.

In this article, Marie gave readers an inside look into the life of a man who was responsible for leading thousands of souls into the Nation. One of her passions is to see the veil of deception lifted, and to share the saving knowledge and power of Jesus and to see families restored and made whole.

A memoir of struggle and overcoming.
